Riant Dutch Art - for contemporary realistic art
Eric van Wattum
Eric van Wattum has been working as an independent visual artist since 2004. Before that, he worked in the business world for more than thirty years. Working with his hands and his imagination has always been his dream. In 1998 he took the evening course in crafts and also a number of courses with sculptors, bronze casters and glass artists. Furthermore, he is self-taught.
From 2004 to 2008 he mainly worked realistically in bronze and sometimes in wood and stone, with the horse as the only theme. Since 2009, he has increasingly sought abstraction and works less and less in (cast) bronze and more and more in construction techniques; forming, welding and coloring metal. Sometimes in combination with other materials.
In addition to horses, he also started making birds, fish and portraits. While the cast bronzes were almost always series, the construction work is always unique, which of course also applies to all statues in stone and wood.
Eric exhibits in various galleries.
